TWO FACES AND A VASE


In elementary school
I saw this picture
It looked kinda cool
Two faces and a vase

Which did I want to see?
The vase or the face?
Two living people that breathe
Or a piece of lifeless pottery?

July 29th
After work
I learned
That people have two sides

This Wednesday
Sitting here
I learned
That I'm the only one who is Really down to Ride


The loud speaker sayS,
"kkkshhhhh. this is your captain speaking,
the crew and i have a little new flash, c
we're the ones who run this ship,
and you're just a passenger."?


This life lesson is painful,
&
Gainful

With every negative seed that is planted,
There is a positive seed
Of equal and usually greater value
Right Along Side.


I am a champion,
and I will crush you,
if you're a fraud.

Bearing it All

Your online life is an int-resting one
Standing up tall and bearing it all

Some folks will get it
And some won't get none
But I guarantee
They'll all hear the call

If you're a statue drawing their eyes
Using predictability 'n' elements of surprise

Be very careful
There's no turning back
Once they've got your number
And they know where you're at

David might say something like this
"They'll kick you, they'll hurt you, then send you a kiss"

So remember that game that you're playing
And parts that you're choosing to share
Life can be a scary affair
When you've lost your underwear

Disappointment

Have you ever been disappointed by someone?

I'm sitting in the room with somebody that I am very sadly, oooh wooes me, disappointed with.

I don't like the feeling. It makes me want to run away.


Ya know... be around people who understand how they effect others...

The Stranger

I had a conversation with a man today in Beverly Hills.

He said, "Rusty... make sure you laugh a lot"

He also talked about God, Love, & Financial Stability.


Again, I met another stranger on my journey that helped me re-focus and remember what my life is about.


Life is a mysterious and wonderful thing. =)

Trapped in Limbo

I feel like I'm trapped in limbo.
A feeling that's complex and simple

Do you see the man that's trying to climb?
Reaching for help but getting denied

I'm still standing at the edge of a cliff
With tied up wings unable to fly
Knowing if I jump too soon,
I will surely die

So I'm forced to wait and watch,
The less worthy pass me by.

Maybe I'll never fulfill my soul
Like a small child trapped in the water hole

Will I lose all that I've built?
While I'm wobbling on these stilts?

&

If none of this matters in the end,
Why does it keep me awake, God send?

Creative Expression

What is Creative Expression?

Hm... good question. lol

I think that "Where" Creative Expression comes from should be addressed first... in order to answer that question. (the way I would answer it)

- I think that maybe, thoughts come from the interaction between our outside surroundings and our mind.

In my case, my senses (sound, sight, etc...) detect things around me. Then a message is sent to my brain. Next, I think, the left and right sides of my brain interpret the information that my senses are sending.

Again, in my case, the emotional side usually has a stronger response/reaction.
So... I react emotionally.

Since I'm a songwriter, those emotional feelings and thoughts tend to turn into songs. But they don't ONLY turn into songs. They also turn/manifest themselves into other forms of Creative Expression. Sometimes I just sit down and draw... or doodle. Other times, I write a blog. When I don't wanna do that, I open up Adobe Photoshop and I redesign my MySpace page.... or update my Status on my facebook page.

MY... Creative Expression. Fun ay?
